Roadnumbering in Switzerland

On the Dutch forum http://www.wegenforum.nl/viewtopic.php?f=196&t=11220&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=30 we have a very confusing discussion about roadnumbering in Switserland and also questions about for which roads you need a vignette or you have to pay toll for it. It seems to me that ...

Here you find a map of the situation I would suggest that the whole interchange would get 'verzweigung beschilderung' (so in green) and also an indication of the German roadnumber: A 861 or the E 54. The indication of Rheinfelden West can be in blue as IQ[] pointed out, but in my eyes it is not nee...

It's exactly the same in the aiports all around the world. This is certainly not true. When I was in Italy I remember that on the airports mostly the Italian name of cities was used: "Frankoforte" for example. bartenders in Vlaanderen wouldn't serve me if I ordered in French A couple of m...

Speed limit on city-motorways

In the Netherlands there is an experiment going on to reduce the high speed limit on some urban motorways from 100 till 80 km/h. I wonder if such mesurements are also taken in Switzerland. And if they were taken: what are the results: Did it mitigate the noise and the air-pollution? Did it made the ...

. Grün ist auch eine klare Deklaration dafür, dass Langsamverkehr auf dieser Strasse nichts zu suchen hat.
But just a sign like this should give you enough information that a specific road isn't allowed for slow traffic, isn't it?

In large countries, like France, it's more understandable. It doesn't matter how large a country is, but it's a matter of centralisation of the country. In a centralized France it is not imaginable that motorways are constructed by local authorities. Departments in France are only allowed to build ...

Now there is a polemic about the first language german-speaking swiss people learn at primary school : they want to replace French with English. French-speaking swiss people become really upset with this decision. I can imagine, but English is more practical I think. I had to learn English, German ...
