Den ganzen Autobahn/Autoroute A16 von Biel/Bienne bis Porrentruy. Es ist ein ganz lange fahrt von der A5 bis A16 durch Biel/Bienne... Ich hatte gedacht, dass das nur 5 bis 10 minuten fahren war, aber es war fast 20 Minuten durch die Stadt, und es war auch noch ohne Staus.
route:
1. In Biel/Bienne. It cost me more time to get from A6 to A16, than I expected.
2. At the A16-A5 roundabout.
3. Massive bridge above the city.
4. 83km to the French border. It's much shorter as the crow flies, but the terrain is very difficult.
5. After a few kilometers, the A16 turns into two one-way roads.
6. A very curvy alignment through here. More than 80 km/h is hard to achieve.
7. Also: lot of tunnels. Note the cycle lanes to the right.
8. Another tunnel.
9. The Jura consits mostly of steep cliffs here.
10. Some industrial area.
11. Exit Péry. Cyclists have to exit here too.
12. Through the mountains.
13. La Heutte.
14. Finally a 100 km/h part.

19. Through some towns. I wanted to take the same way back and get onto A5 to Neuchâtel, but I decided to go to Basel, didn't want to go through all those towns and Biel/Bienne again.

24. This part of A16 is only one-laned and consits of basically one big tunnel.
25. Back on the surface streets again.
26. Accessing the A16 again at Delémont. Note that the French A36 is already signed.

28. The A16 often lacks a shoulder.

30. Bassecourt.
31. Bassecourt exit... almost no traffic here.
32. Exit Glovelier.
33. This is a long tunnel.
34. Exiting the tunnel, the next one is right ahead.
35. Courgenay exit.
36. Belfort is only 41km... it feels further away somehow.
37. Porrentruy-Est...through traffic to France has to exit here.
38. Porrentruy-Est... I decided to continue down the A16.
39. Another tunnel.
40. Porrentruy-Ouest...end of the A16.
